It’s Time to Speak Up for Property Owners’ Rights…
We Can’t Allow the Proposed Ordinance to Ban Short-Term Rentals to Pass
By now, you may have heard that town officials on Dauphin Island have proposed an ordinance to ban short-term rentals in the Trees in the East End.
If passed, this new ordinance would force all short-term rentals into the West End of the island, which is more likely to flood in the event of a storm.
It’s absolutely vital that we let the Town Council know that property owners oppose any rules that interfere with their right to generate income from their homes.
If short-term rentals are no longer available in this area, Dauphin Island will lose much-needed tourist dollars — this will result in lower property values over the long term.
